PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENTS

Department of Economics

NMSM Govt. college is one of the few institutions in the state offering graduate course in Development Economics. The department started functioning in 1999 with the launch of BA Degree. The degree course in development economics is a full-fledged economics graduation course on a par with traditional B.A. Economics courses in terms of recognition and equivalence. The two subsidiary subjects offered in the course are econometrics and foreign trade. In contrast with traditional economics graduation course where the subsidiaries are non economics subjects, these subjects are current and stand in good stead for the student when it comes to employment and higher education.
