National Cadets Corps (N.C.C)

  

  

 

Sri.Shaji Thaddeus took charge as Care taker of NCC unit from former NCC officer Lt.S.V. Rajkumar. It was under 29(K)Bn. Till 2006.  Since 2006 it is under 30(k)Bn with an enrollment strength of 160 till 2007-08.  Due to delinking of Pre-Degree from the College, the College requested the Bettalion to withdraw one Platoon,hence the present strength is 107.

 

  Paredes are conducted on Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.  Paredes are conducted by PI Staff of the Bettallion in the presence of ANO of the College. 20 Paredes are to be completed including social services per academic year.

 

   Two type of examinations are conducted for cadets, 'B' and 'C' Certificate on Completion of one year training with 75% attendance in parades and attending one Camp, a cadet is eligible to appear for 'B' Examination.  For attending 'C' Examination one more Camp is attended along with 75% attendance in Paredes.

 

   'B' Certificate holders will get 2% and 'C 'Certificate holders will get 4% marks as weightage for higher studies .  On passing of 'C' Cadets are exempted from written examinations for the post of Army Officers.
 

Activities of 2009-10

The enrolment was completed on 23-09-2009 and parades were commenced on 26-09-2009. The cadets were given ample training in PT, drill WT, firing etc.

Various out reach programmes were undergone such as Cancer Awareness Rally, Blood Donation camp etc. As part of cancer awareness day NCC cadets organized a cycle rally on 7-11-2009. A blood donation camp was organized at Govt taluk hospital Sulthan Bathery.NCC unit of the college has taken initiative in formation of Red Ribbon Club in Wayanad district.

NCC cadets of the college both SD and SW were actively participated in the Independence Day and Republic Day parades held at S.K.M.J.H.S.S ground Kalpetta. In Independence Day parade our SW cadets secured second prize ii senior women division. In Republic Day parade our SE cadets secured first prize and SD cadets won the second prize in their respective divisions.It is highly worth mentioning that NCC cades have rendered an excellent guard of Honour to Sri. Ali Asghar Pasha, the then Director of collegiate education on his visit to congratulate the rank holders of the college. Cadets were participated in various National integration camps held at Madekkari and Kollam. Sajith Kumar has participated in the Trekking at Gwalior and he was awarded as the best climber. Nejas and Jomish K Johny attended the trekking camp at Bihar and malayatoor respectively. Binu Baby has undergone the selection procedure for special NIC held at Lakshadeep.Vijeesh K.P,John Abraham Austin and Binu Baby participated in the volunteer selection camp for CWG at Delhi.59 cadets were appeared for B examination and 23 cadets attended C examination.
